Determined to actualise a sovereign state of Biafra, the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has launched Biafra auto number plates.
Speaking to newsmen during the launching at the Nsukka Regional office of the group in Enugu State, during the week, the MASSOB leader, Chief Raph Uwazuruike, through his representative, Chief Arinze Igbani, said they decided to produce Biafra auto number plates as they are tired of the way they were being marginalised by the Nigerian government and its security agents.
According to him, people from the North who own cars or motorcycles move about without number plates and they are not being questioned by security agents the way people from the South East are questioned on a daily basis.

His words: “This will liberate us from the harassment we the Igbos receive from Nigeria security agents on daily basis and also prove to Nigerians that we are not under their control any more.
“Besides, the price of our motor number plates is very cheap unlike the Nigeria own which is about N4,000. So, those who cannot afford to buy Nigeria motor number plate can as well use our own since it has international recognition.
“The Igbo people are suffering and we want to reduce the suffering of our people by producing some certain things by ourselves. We have decided to be practicing Biafra government because very soon we will declare the sovereign state of Biafra.”
Chief Igbani who is also the regional administrator of MASSOB in Awka South also praised Chief Uwazuruike for his effort so far in the pursuit of the Biafra state.
