South East APC- congratulations Governor Amaechi on emerging Buhari’s Campaign Director

South East All Progressives Congress (APC) congratulates Governor Chibuike Amechi for his appointment in the arduous task of leading our great party to victory in the 14 February, 2015 presidential election. Good luck Governor Amechi. It is our candid view that Governor Amechi will surely lead our great party to victory, given his sterling qualities as man of courage, focused and fearless fighter.
We cannot forget in a hurry how he defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors in the historic Nigeria Governors Forum’s election, an election that exposed the perfidy of President Goodluck Jonathan regime.
We recall that the day Governor Amechi joined forces with the progressives, he automatically and patriotically redefined Nigeria’s political landscape, cancelled out North-South divide; while today Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State is battling his Katsina brother, Amechi is battling his Bayelsa brother. This is healthy for our fledgling democracy.
Our confidence is boosted more by the singular fact that assuming Governor Amechi cannot attract more votes for the APC; having bedded before and armed with the machinations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he knows their tricks and has the political will to stem the jumbo millions of votes usually manufactured for the party in the South East and South South.
We therefore thank Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led National Executive Committee for appointing Governor Amechi, to head the APC Presidential Campaign.
The South East APC must state unequivocally that Chief Oyegun has done Nigeria proud by not only Governor Amechi’s appointment, but by organizing a transparent, free and fair presidential primary, a primary election which has become the benchmark for future presidential or even council primaries. A presidential primary that defied money politics by producing General Muhammadu Buhari, a man of modest means, the peoples general, and capping it with an excellent academic, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, as vice presidential candidate.
In sum, it can be said that APC is getting it right in all departments, a sine qua-non for victory at the polls. Especially when we remember that some pundits had boasted that our great party will not be registered and on 31st July, 2013, we got registered, Dr Doyin Okupe, presidential adviser proclaimed he should be called a bastard if APC survives for one year, now we are more than a year old and government waiting in the wings for regime change.
As if it their bag of propaganda tricks is inexhaustible the prophets of doom predicted that our great party will crash during the election of its national executive committee, we crossed that hurdle and they said the center cannot hold during the presidential primaries and by God’s grace it became a beacon of hope.
Mr Osita Okechukwu
Spokesman South East APC.
