The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs. Feyisetan Fayose, has footed the
medical bills of some patients at the Ekiti State University Teaching
Hospital, Ado-Ekiti to mark her 51st birthday.The patients included
victims of Boko Haram insurgency from the north.She had, on January 8,
distributed food items and personal cash gifts to special children
across the state. Speaking while presenting the cash donation to the
patients at the hospital on Wednesday, the first lady said the gesture
was aimed at bringing succour to the people, especially children.
“I
have said it before and I am still saying it that l have no pet project,
my project is my husbands programmes and policies which are aimed at
making life more meaningful in general to the people of the state.
”Fayose
assured that the exercise would be a regular one as she promised not to
abandon the needy.Earlier, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital,
Dr. Kolawole Ogundipe, expressed appreciation to the first lady for her
philanthropic gesture. He described the various conditions of the
beneficiaries to include Boko Haram victims from the northern part of
the country, accident victims with varying degrees of injury, new born
babies with complication and their mothers among others. Responding, one
of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Sade Adewuyi, expressed gratitude to Fayose
and prayed for God’s guidance for the present administration.
