The decampees led by their leader, Mr Abdul Rasak Isa were received by the
state governor, Ibikunle Amosun during his re-election campaign at Ipokia.
Their leader, Mr Abdul said they were tired of PDP and its governorship
aspirant in the state, and even though they have been with him since 2003, they
are ready to leave and join the moving train.
In a similar vein, about 1,650 supporters of both the Social
Democratic Party, SDP and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ilaro in Ogun
State on Tuesday last week also defected to APC saying they were satisfied in the
government of Ibikunle Amosun and pledging their loyalty and support for him in
the forthcoming general elections in the State.
The Governor however welcomed all the newly defected members
and said it was a welcome idea and even a better one for the State.
