Some religious leaders have promised to hold a joint rally to endorse the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, for the forthcoming elections. The religious leaders operating under the aegis of Inter-faith Prayer Forum unveiled their plan at a meeting with the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, Dr Ahmadu Ali, in Abuja. The clerics, led by Archbishop Leonard Kawas and Sheik Dan Zanga,
said they were in support of the administration of President Jonathan and applauded the PDP-led administration for transforming the nation in all sectors. They cautioned politicians against desperation for power as they noted: “Q’uran and the Bible agree on the fact that only God gives power.” In his remarks, Dr. Ahmadu Ali, who was represented by Prof. Tunde Adeniran, expressed the appreciation of the PDP presidential campaign organisation for the prayers and support of the religious leaders since the beginning of the electioneering process.
