Rivers APC Candidate Inducing Pastors, Chiefs To Petition State Election Tribunal —PDP

Rivers State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has alleged that a senatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state was offering some pastors and chiefs of Ogoni huge sums of money as inducement to petition the state Election Tribunal that no elections took place in the area. State PDP Chairman, Mr Felix Obuah, in a statement, yesterday, berated the senator for allegedly desperately wanting to remain in office even against the wish of his people.
Obuah warned against such surreptitious moves to plunge the state into unnecessary chaos after the APC had failed in its pre-election propaganda to incite the people and even during the elections to carry arms against the state. He reminded the senator that he who goes to equity should do so with
clean hands. “Both the senator and the APC should also know that the proof of whether or not elections took place in Ogoni goes beyond the sum each of the false witnesses is being paid. “We warn that such willing tools who have been paid the paltry sum of N200,000 each to bear false witness to discredit elections that were hailed by both local and foreign observers as free, fair and credible should beware, as the offence of perjury still remains a serious crime in the country,” he said.
