Fire Razes Down One Of Osun’s Main Markets Last Night

Goods and property worth millions of naira went up in flames as the popular Atakunmosa market in Ilesa, Osun state, was razed by inferno. The market situated around the palace of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran caught fire at about 7:00 pm, yesterday, 9th of August, 2015. The traders whose shops and goods were destroyed by the fire were seen wailing as most of them
were rolling on the floor as they counted their losses. A food vendor in the market said the reason for the fire outbreak was unknown, but suggested it could have been caused by electricity surge, like many others suggested too. The fire almost razed down the entire clothing section of the market, but the fire station in Ilesa couldn’t control it, she lamented.
