Soldiers Protest Sacking In Kaduna Govt House

A group of soldiers, who were said to have been sacked by the authorities of the Nigerian Army for allegedly abandoning their duty posts in the North-East, stormed the Kaduna State Government House on Friday to protest against what they described as unfair treatment meted out to them by the Army authorities. The soldiers, who arrived at the Government House at about 5.30pm on Friday,
complained to the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, that they were not part of those who allegedly abandoned their operational base in the ongoing war against the Boko Haram insurgents. El-Rufai was not around to receive the aggrieved soldiers, but it was learnt that the Secretary to the State Government, Balarabe Lawal, met with them. Lawal assured them that the governor would forward their complaints to the appropriate authorities.
