Lassa Fever: 2 Confirmed Dead In Ebonyi

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State yesterday confirmed the death of two persons, including a student who hails from Izzi Local Government Area of the state from Lassa fever. Umahi made this
known during a stakeholders’ meeting that took place at the International Conference Centre in Abakaliki. He noted that he has directed the state’s Commissioner for Health and other authorities to quarantine the lodge in which the student, aged 26 years, died. The governor noted the preparedness
of his administration to raid all endemic decease in the state, stressing that the victim was a student of Ebonyi State University. Umahi assured that his administration is doing everything possible to equip hospitals in the state to combat such eventuality.
