DELSU Loses Lecturer To Strange Illness

Sadness swept through the Delta State University, Abraka on Thursday, when news of the death of one of the  university lecturers hit the town.The lecturer, Professor Richard Olomo, was reported to
have died of strange typhoid fever after close to one year battle with the illness.It was reliably gathered that Professor Olomo, Head of Department Geography/Regional planning of the University, began his illness after the National University Commission (NUC) accreditation team visited
the University in July 2015.Some weeks after the accreditation exercise ended, he was rushed to the University Health Centre at site 3 for Medication following which he was transferred to the State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH). Oghara for further treatment.Confirming Olomo’s death, the University Vice Chancellor, Professor Victor Peretemode said the professor died of strange illness, disclosing that all efforts to save him proved abortive.
