The decomposing body of Godwin Abuul, the lecturer in the Theatre Arts Department of the College of Education, Oju, Benue State, who was allegedly murdered by his wife, name withheld, in
connivance with her siblings over alleged extra-marital affairs, has been recovered from River Katsina-Ala by police.Abuul, who went missing about two weeks ago in Gboko after returning from
Oju, where he lectured at the state-owned institution, was killed and dumped in River Katsina-Ala.In the course of investigations, police in Gboko arrested a young man with the cloth the lecturer wore the last day he was seen and on interrogation, the suspect confessed that the deceased was allegedly killed by his wife in connivance with her siblings, who also sold his car and shared the proceeds.The mother of two was immediately arrested alongside her siblings and others mentioned in the saga. The matter had been transferred to the Command Headquarters in Makurdi for further investigation.A family source, who spoke yesterday on condition of anonymity, told Vanguard in Makurdi that the decomposed body of the former Head of Theatre Arts Department, COE, Oju, was found stuck to the trunk of a small tree in River Katsina-Ala.According to him, “after the revelation by his killers that he was dumped in the river two weeks ago, a search party comprising the police, family members and local divers Saturday evening discovered the badly decomposed body in the river.“What was left of him was hanging on a small plant in the river. Fishes had feasted on him. Those responsible for his death pretended all along and even claimed that he might have been kidnapped. We took the remains to Makurdi on the orders of the Police, where an autopsy has been conducted and we are burying him immediately because the corpse is in a bad state.” When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent Moses Yamu, said he was yet to receive the latest briefs on matter.
