Northern Nigeria.Formerly know as Zazzau, Zaria is circled by walls and fortresses that largely served as refuge during war. The city has a strong traditional institution that still exists today through the emir of Zaria. However, the powers of these institutions were abruptly ended with the invasion

  • Zaria city walls and gates
The Zaria city walls and gates were an impregnable fortress that protected the inhabitants of the city from enemies and attackers.   • Emir’s Palace
