Christmas: NSCDC Deploys 3,000 Personnel In Kaduna

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed 3000 personnel across Kaduna State ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, to protect residents and critical national assets.

Modu Bunu, the NSCDC Commander in the state, said in a statement on Friday in Kaduna that the personnel would specifically target street gangs, kidnappers, cattle rustlers armed robbers and those engaged in thuggery.This is contained in the statement signed by the command’s spokesman, Ordiniir Terzungwe, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria, the commander urged residents to be security conscious.“The command is therefore calling on members of the public to ensure and maintain vigilance and report suspected acts, gatherings, objects and persons to security agencies before, during and after the yuletide.“On our part, I have directed a mass deployment of over 3,000 personnel comprising uniform and under-cover operatives.“The command has already commenced routine patrol of suspected black spots in all the  LGAs and Kaduna metropolis to prevent the breakdown of law order.“It is therefore in the interest of parents and guardians to caution their children and wards to shun violent acts.“All perpetrators of criminal and violent acts will be arrested and sanctioned accordingly.”Bunu urged residents to provide timely reports that would enable the NSCDC and other security agencies prevent any form of criminality in the state.
The commander advised the people to exercise caution while using electrical appliances and fire to avert disaster.
