Okorocha Presents N131bn Budget For 2017

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has presented a budget of N131bn for the 2017 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly.Presenting the budget tagged, “Budget of Consolidation and

Continuity II” on Friday, Okorocha said the budget would stimulate the economy by focusing on infrastructural development, inclusive growth, creating a good environment for industries, commerce, tourism and investment.Under the capital expenditure, the governor stated that agriculture and environment got N6.4bn, while works and transport had the lion’s share of N31.5bn.He said, “Whereas under recurrent expenditure, subvention cost and consolidated revenue fund charges got N15.3bn each, education and health sectors have N4.5bn and N1.8bn respectively.”
