Mad Man Attacks First Bank, Destroys ATM with Hammer, Customers Take Off

An unidentified mentally unstable young man allegedly attacked the First Bank Branch at Ganaja junction in Kabba, Okene road area of Lokoja on Tuesday, damaging two Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). The mad man was said to have held a hammer, which he used repeatedly to hit the machine, trying to destroy it. The incident, which reportedly threw ATM users into confusion and kept them on
their heels scuttling for safety, happened at about 9 a.m after the suspect was mistaken for a robber on a mission to rob customers at the ATM. According to reports, the attack allegedly rendered two bank machines useless, leaving customers exasperated. The state Police Public Relation Officer, Collins Sola Adebayo, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect was shot on his leg.
