Ondo APC Passes A No Confidence Vote On Chairman

There is a brewing crisis within the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State, as some members of the state executive committee have passed a no confidence vote on the chairman, Isaacs
Kekemeke.A statement by the Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Adesanya, on Thursday, said the chairman had not been discharging his duties appropriately. This will not be the first time a no confidence vote was passed on the chairman, the first being in August last year during the build up to the crisis which attended the APC governorship primaries.Mr. Kekemeke was accused of working against the interest of the then candidate Rotimi Akeredolu during the primaries and had been shoved aside since the ascension of Mr. Akeredolu as governor.“The State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, on this day, June 1st, 2017, unanimously passed a vote of no confidence on the State Chairman, Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke, for failing to discharge his responsibilities, neglect and dereliction of duty, among other offenses, in compliance with ARTICLE 21(D)(vi), of the Constitution of the APC, (October 2014 as amended),” the statement said.
The statement also said a three-member “fact finding disciplinary committee” had been set up to investigate the “former” chairman. It said while Mr. Kekekeme remained under investigation, his deputy, Ade Adetimehin, was unanimously chosen to act as chairman of the party in the state.
According to the statement, Mr. Adetimehin will act as chairman until the report of the probe committee is submitted.Members of the committee are Abayomi Adesanya, chairman; Rasheed
Badmus, member; and Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye as Secretary.
