Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex
socio-political body, on Friday in Enugu warned that there would be
repercussions if Igbos are targeted in possible post-election violence
in any part of the country.
The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Gary Enwo-Igariwey,
made the warning while addressing journalists after a meeting at the
organisation’s national secretariat in Enugu.
Scores of Igbos in the Northern part of the country were killed in
civil disturbances that trailed the 2011 presidential election.
But, a week to the 2015 presidential poll, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has
warned that Igbos would not fold their arms and watch as they are
attacked in possible post-election violence.
Ohanaeze-Ndigbo equally told Igbos in other parts of the country to defend themselves, and retaliate if attacked.
