An Abuja Grade 1 Area Court has sentenced one Emmanuel Uka to three months in prison for stealing a mobile phone in Kubwa, an Abuja suburb. The 25-year-old man who pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of theft, an offence that contradicts section 287 of the Penal Code was however given a fine option of N3, 000 by the judge, Mohammed Marafa. Lukam had told the court that one Christopher Ogbeche of Karimo, complained on July 13, at the Kubwa police station that the accused had on July 12, acted in a dubious manner and dishonestly took his Samsung galaxy mobile phone and Techno phone, all valued at N165,000 without his consent. He said the two stolen phones were recovered during investigation.
