5 Die Of ‘Strange Disease’ In Nassarawa, 20 Hospitalized

Five people have died of a ‘strange disease’ in Ayele community, Nassarawa State. According to the community leaders, the disease that killed five in the community broke out on March 23rd, 2016,

while 20 are currently receiving treatments in hospital.However, members of the Rapid Response team from the Nasarawa State Ministry of Health, has visited the community and while attending to
the sick took samples of their blood and concluded it was a water-borne disease known as salmonellosis.The experts warned the community people to stop drinking from their source of water saying it was the cause of the outbreak, but they say, it’s the only source of water they have, urging the government to quickly come to their aid.
