Police Arrest kidnapper Of Senator’s Mother

The Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad Asaba, has arrested a suspected kidnapper identified as one of those who abducted the mother of Senator Aguanavwodo. The suspect, one Emmanuel Okobi, reportedly confessed to the crime and mentioned five other members of the gang, who are on the
run.According to the police, the senator’s mother had been released by her abductors who dropped her at Tremble village in the creeks last Monday.No fewer than 27 suspected cult members were also
arrested by Police detectives attached to the Delta State Police command for their involvement in cult-related activities.The State Police Commissioner, Alkali Baba Usman, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects to journalists in Asaba on Thursday, disclosed that they were arrested on a tip-off and the police raided their hideouts in Asaba and environs. The suspects were arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Asaba while on a routine patrol.According to the police, the cops intercepted a registered Toyota Corolla car which was driven by one Ogheneware Benson along Udu Road, Warri, adding that on interrogation, Benson confessed to have snatched the vehicle from its owner, one Mrs. Mary-ann Ugberase in Effurun.The police boss said on the same day the robbery suspects were arrested.The police authorities confirmed seizing some weapons from the suspects, which included one locally- made cut-to-size single barrel gun and cartridges.
