"We Would Have Done Very Well In Equatorial Guinea" - Stephen Keshi

Erstwhile Super Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi says if Nigeria had been part of the on-going African Cup of Nations , the team would have made a massive impact.
Keshi led Nigeria to her third AFCON crown in South Africa and qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil to. However, the Nigeria Football Federation dallied over the renewal of the 53-year-old’s contract. The Keshi/NFF contract impasse could have been the biggest obstacle to the champions’ failure to qualify for the 30th edition of the AFCON.In a chat with www.footballlive.ng, the Big Boss said the best teams don’t always win in tournaments but will the right attitude and work ethic any team will stand a chance.
He explained that retaining the title if Nigeria had managed to qualify will depend on preparation and
subsequently the players’ state of mind and what their motivation is.
” It depends on how Nigeria prepares before the tournament and the ambitions of the players. Questions must be asked and answers provided, such as, do they want to defend and win? There are a lot of things that go with playing and winning. We could have made an impact if we were there though.”
